PetzA: Unleash the Rainbow! | by Ignis
Have you heard the news? Prism recently released a new fork of PetzA offering the ability to make and install custom color palettes! That's right, you can now use any custom colors on your chosen petz. It may seem a little confusing and intimidating, but I assure you it's very easy to install and use. Here's a quick tutorial: First, remember to always backup your files and game! Make sure to download the latest PetzA in Prism Mirror Lens' discord server (keep in mind this version is still in BETA testing!). Move your current PetzA.toy file out of your resource/toyz folder, and replace it with the new version. Next, create a folder called 'palettes' in your game directory (Petz 4 folder, not Resource). After you download some custom palettes, this is where they will be stored. And finally, to change the color of your chosen pet, simply open your pet file in LNZ Pro and write a '[Palette]' header followed by the name of your chosen palette on the next line (exclude the .bmp extension and keep it case sensitive). This header goes in both child and adult sections and it does not matter where you place them, I personally put mine right above the [Z Shade Slope]. Palettes do not pass on when breeding, so if you want the baby to have the custom colors you will have to manually add them in LNZ Pro exactly the same way. If you'd like more information on making your own palettes or where to download some already made ones, Queenie made a masterlist page on her site: https://phantasmagoriapetz.neocities.org/palettesite/palettes And now all thats left is to test out some palettes, or create some new ones, hex some petz, and have fun! If you need help or discover any issues, please make sure to let Prism know right away! |
Peppercorn | by Teascape
I never thought I'd be someone with a mascot pet, but then Peppercorn came along and made himself at home with me, the universe, and everything else. As a kid I was too timid to participate in the PC. I lurked, admiring websites and hexed Petz from afar, but never daring to ask for one. Decades later I found myself in Petzcord, finally engaging with others, when I saw this exceptionally round cat with big eyes and a personality to match. I knew it was finally time to step past the hesitation of my childhood and offer up my firstborn, my soul, and however many limbs Moonflower would accept for my very own shaped beast. Luckily, Moonflower asked only for a bred pet (even though I strongly offered at least 10). They even added the little fangs that I love on alley cats to him. And thus, Peppercorn came home with me. He was an absolute delight from the start. Playful, chasing yarn balls around, and interacting robustly with every pet I'd bring out to spend time with him. Honestly, I have yet to find a toy or food that he doesn't like, and the clothes closet is full of even more ways for him to show off. Soon after bringing him home, I discovered the wonder of the Peppercorn strut. Cranking his chonk slider to 100 brought out the best in him, and the rotund dreamboat started really catching the eyes of others. |

I'd feature him in events here and there, sneak him onto a stamp or two, and let him hold the mystery of the Petzy Book Bingo card before its reveal. He eventually hosted a spooky bingo all his own and would elicit enthusiastic "PEPPERCORN!"'s each time I'd share him with others. I loved and continue to love how much others enjoy his Casanova demeanor. Then came the Pepperlings. I contacted Moonflower with my idea to hex a breedable file that was inspired by Peppercorn to give him the chance to have kittens of his own. Moonflower gave me the green light, and with my still growing hexing skills I was able to make this happen! His first litter was with my persian, Myth, and they had five wonderfully orb shaped kittens that were presented in the Petz Life Jubilee. By Valentine's Day I was ready to lean fully into the notoriety of Peppercorn. I hosted a quick bachelor like event and received amazing profiles from several prospective partners for him. There ended up being a tie between the lovely Kiki from Dew and charming Crisis from Pollypup. Two exciting first dates later - we had Pepperlings ready to find their forever homes. Things have settled a bit for Peppercorn - his children are out living their own lives and he has his past loves to remember fondly. For now, he is back in his home with my Alley Cats and living a simple life of swagger and snacks. But he's always ready for his next opportunity to shine. |
