Show Rules and Information!

I'm so glad you are interested in showing your pet! Please take the time to read this page carefully in order to know what is expected of your entry. It's a pretty standard and quick list, so do everyone a favor and read it! :) Doing so will ensure an enjoyable event for everyone. If you fail to follow the rules there will be consequences.

Please check out MLCK's Posing Guide if you have any questions about styles and what is looked at when judging a pose. If you have any questions feel free to zip us an email.

Rules

  1. Only 2 entries per kennel per show, unless otherwise stated. (For example if a show isn't recieving enough entries I may allow you to enter more than 2)
  2. Fully matured adults only
  3. You may only enter your unique pets and photos! Absolutely do not steal anyone else's photos, and only show dogz that are one-of-a-kind bred or adopted (aka do not use downloadable petz)
  4. One email per entry
  5. Poses must be facing right to ensure fair and correct judging
  6. Photos used in previous shows can not be reused! Having your pet re-pose for each show is not only more fair, but also will increase your petz show skill.
  7. The background must be white, and your petz should not be wearing any clothes or have other petz or toys in the picture.
  8. DO NOT edit your entries! This includes flipping the image, adding a shadow, inner beveling, adding eye sheen, etc. Any envidence of tampering with the original photo will cause immediate disqualification.
  9. Make sure the files are attached and not imbedded/inserted into the email message
  10. Use the correct email subject so your entry is not misplaced
  11. Have fun! :)

Failure to follow the rules will result in disqualification from the show, and (based on the severity of the offense) possibility of being banned from future competition at Dogz Naturalist. You have been warned several times, so please just follow the rules!

  12. Show Categories

    1. Front "Dali" Pose - This category is open to any dogz breed (with the exception of fantasy or wild breedz such as horsez) that is posing in the Front or "dali" pose.
    2. Profile "Dane" Pose - This category is open to any dogz breed (with the exception of fantasy or wild breedz such as horsez) that is posing in the Profile or "dane" pose.

Again, if you have any concerns about posing check out MLCK's Posing Guide. It's a fabulous resource.

    Points and Ranking

Dogz Naturalist's Show Points and Titles
Out of all the entries for each show 5 pets will recieve titles, awards, and points. They will be distributed as follows:
    Best in Show: 5 Points
    First Place: 4 Points
    Second Place: 3 Points
    Third Place: 2 Points
    Honorable Mention: 1 Point

    Overall Points and Titles
As you compete in more shows, your pet will increase it's overall points and ranking in the petz show world. Once your pet owns a title it can be included in their show name. For example a pet named Dogz Naturalist's Super Cool Cougar could become RCh. Dogz Naturalist's Super Cool Cougar after recieving 5 show points.
Here is the complete list of Show Titles:
    Reserve Champion (RCh.) 5 Points
    Champion (Ch.) 10 Points
    Grand Champion (GCh.) 15 Points
Master Grand Champion (MGCh.) 20 Points
Supreme Grand Champion (SGCH.) 30 Points
Master Supreme Grand Champion (MSGCH.) 40 Points
    Ultimate Grand Champion 50 Points
    Reserved World Champion 90 Points
    World Champion 100 Points
    Reserved Legendary Champion 200 Points
    Legandary Champion 300 Points

By the time your pet is a legend, or maybe even before, you might consider retiring them from the show circuit. If you choose to do so you could also add Retired (Retd.) to your petz title.

The Petz Kennel Club has a completely different show and point system which can be found here.
